Claims Advocacy and Recovery

Advocacy, empathy, and recovery at the center of every discussion.

Our goal is to redefine the workers’ compensation space by placing advocacy, empathy, and recovery at the center of every discussion. We will champion injured workers through every step of recovery, advocating with integrity and guiding with expertise.

We will ensure that every injured worker feels supported, respected, and empowered on their path back to health and work. This approach will accelerate recovery, improve outcomes, and restore the confidence of injured workers and the organizations that they work for.

Return-to-Work Strategy

Meaningful modified duty aligned with restrictions and abilities.

We work with Non-Profit Organizations to provide modified duty that is meaningful and compliant with transitional work.

Partnerships with nonprofits can provide:

  1. Light duty work aligned with restrictions and abilities
  2. Community based transitional placements
  3. Confidence restoration through contribution
  4. Reduced lost time days
  5. Reduced litigation
  6. Faster, sustainable return-to-work percentages

This allows injured workers to:

  1. Maintain a routine
  2. Improve morale
  3. Build new competencies
  4. Avoid isolation
  5. Demonstrate work capacity progression

Upskilling Programs

Turn recovery time into career growth time.

Industry studies show that it can take up to 2 weeks to find suitable modified duty work at a non-profit organization. To reduce lost time days immediately, we will first look to provide upskilling through our Learning Management System.

The objective is to turn recovery time into career growth time. Through The RTW Space Learning Management System, they will have the option to complete the following types of learning:

  1. Safety—providing you with a more safety conscious employee when they return to work
  2. Industry or job specific learning
  3. Soft skills development such as communication, time management and leadership
  4. Industry-recognized certifications such as customer service, project management, OSHA training
  5. Technology

This approach elevates RTW from a compliance function to a workforce development strategy. The approach also reframes workers’ compensation from “managing a claim” to “managing recovery and career continuity.”

Claim Closure Projects

Structured initiatives designed to resolve open claims and improve program performance.

Workers’ Compensation Closure Project Purpose and Goals

We specialize in Workers’ Compensation, General Liability and Auto Liability Claim Closure Projects. The claim closure projects are structured initiatives designed to reduce open claims, lower reserves, and improve the financial health of a program by systematically resolving or closing claims that are no longer active or have minimal future liability.

These projects are aimed to:

  • Reduce legacy liabilities and improve case reserves.
  • Lower collateral requirements for clients.
  • Free up internal resources.
  • Improve fiscal condition by closing claims that are unlikely to develop further.

Common Approaches

  • Claim Inventory Workout – A focused, data-driven review of all open claims to identify those with low or no future development.
  • Legacy Claim Closure – Targeting older claims that have been open for years, often with minimal further medical or wage loss potential.
  • Companion/Multi-Body Part Claims – Closing related claims that are not expected to materially increase total losses.
  • Comorbidities and MMI (Maximum Medical Improvement) – Addressing cases where other health issues or delayed recovery are preventing full resolution.

Liability Closure Project Purpose and Goals

For General Liability and Auto Liability we take a focused approach to accelerated claim closure that’s designed to reduce your open inventory. The goal of the process is to improve claim performance and reduce expected development, as well as collateral, while having a direct and positive impact on your balance sheet.

Typical engagements include an independent review of each open claim, with a customized resolution plan for closure developed to bring the loss to conclusion. The resolution plan also includes accountability as to who needs to do what with appropriate timelines.
